The Long Way
About
Small group weekday dog walking, capped at three dogs. Dogs matched by pace, temperament and play style. The same walker every time. A full hour outside, pickup and drop-off at your door, and a photo and note after every walk. The Long Way started with a husky named Luka, who has never once agreed that a walk was long enough. That is where the name came from, and where the whole idea started. I live in Bernal Heights, and I fell for this neighborhood the way most people do: slowly, and on foot. The fog coming over the hill in the morning. The stairways that turn a ten minute walk into forty. Learning which dog belonged to which stoop long before I knew any of the neighbors' names. The club is built on one idea. Most dogs do not need a longer list of activities. They need the same person, the same small group, and one unhurried hour outside, on the same days every week. So that is all we do, and every group is capped at three dogs so that nobody is ever just along for the ride.
