The Comforted Kitty was founded in 2014 by lifelong cat lover Dan McPartlan, who saw a need for better cat care while owners are away. After years of volunteering with shelters and growing up around his grandmother’s foster cats, Dan knew that cats thrive on routine and feel safest at home. Tired of relying on friends or impersonal boarding facilities, he launched an in-home cat-sitting service to provide reliable, compassionate care in a cat’s own environment. Starting with just a bike and a bag of toys, Dan built the company on trust, professionalism, and a deep love for cats. Today, The Comforted Kitty has experienced, background-checked sitters serving cities across the San Francisco area—bringing peace of mind to cat parents and comfort to thousands of felines.
