About
Smart Paws offers nonviolent, problem-solving obedience training with trainer Jenina Schutter. Jenina also offers assistance to people with dogs who are having a dog-to-dog issues, separation anxieties, and other fear-related problem, as well as behavior modification for any aggression issues. In 1998 I adopted my American Bull Terrier Boris, who led me to become interested in training and training methods. Due to my background in Psychology and social work in Germany I was more drawn to positive reward-based training and started to read countless animal behavior books to modify my training which I then offered to several rescue groups. Due to the success, I founded Smart Paws in 2000 and have been fine-tuning my abilities and knowledge by entering a trainer teaching program offered by Paul Owens with Raise with Praise the author of The Original Dog Whisperer from 2005- 2007. From 2007-2008 I worked as the Head Trainer of the Glendale Humane Society providing obedience training and behavior modification programs. It was great fun and I learned a lot. However, it was time to refocus on my business. Attending more animal behavior seminars, as well to continue to help other rescue groups
