Katie's Kitty is a family-owned and operated business, proudly serving Manhattan since 1997. We are an exclusive boutique-style cat sitting company offering pet sitting in your home and cat boarding in our host-family homes. We carefully pre-screen every pet sitter before they are invited to join our network of cat sitters and pet boarders. And all of our sitters and boarders are insured and bonded. The roster of persons who work for us is eclectic and includes professionals who do it as much for the love of animals as for any other reason. Among the ranks of our dedicated staff are nurses, journalists, teachers, social workers, stay-at-home moms and dads, veterinary technicians, administrative assistants, and graduate students. At Katie's Kitty, our caregiving goes well beyond just the physical needs of your pet. We believe that, as with humans, there is a mind-body connection in animals. As such, the emotional state of your pet is just as important as his or her physical well-being. To that end, we take great pains to reduce occurrences of stress, frustration, loneliness - and yes, even boredom - in the life of your loved one. We always take our cue from you. And so, if an exercise or play regimen is part of your daily routine, we will do our very best to recreate it. Through our keen awareness and attention to detail, the likelihood that your pet will feel safe and content in your absence is greatly enhanced. Katie's Kitty was established in 1997, as a result of a conversation with my 8-year-old daughter, Katie. Having noticed that I was unhappy with the work I was doing, she said, "Daddy, why can't you do something that you love instead?" Our roots are very humble (dog walking, cat sitting, & pet boarding from our apartment on Manhattan's upper east side). Before long, pet owners learned about us through word-of-mouth and the business grew. When I could no longer tend to each customer personally, I realized that quality homecare for pets in Manhattan was sorely lacking. Since then we have grown tremendously, but some things remain unchanged. Your cherished companion will always be treated with the same personalized care & attention that I would give my own. Katie's Kitty pet sitters must have animal welfare as their number one priority. I'm pleased to say that I have been blessed with a roster of dedicated sitters who, in turn, pass that degree of loyalty on to their respective clients.
